Abstract
We have measured spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectra of Fe/Co(00 1) of 5-11 monolayers thickness range by using photon energy of 44.5, 69 an d 101 eV, in which Fe forms face-centered cubic structure. The finite spin- polarization has been found for fee Fe at room temperature, which indicates the existence of the ferromagnetic surface layer. In addition we have clea rly observed a temperature dependence of the spin polarization, and observe d the exchange splitting peaks of Delta(5) symmetry band as well as the pea ks of the non-magnetic state in the spectra excited by 44.5 eV.
