O. Hashimoto et al., PRODUCTION OF SHISONIN IN ROSEMARY (ROSEM ARINUS-OFFICINALIS L) TISSUE-CULTURE, Nippon Nogei Kagakukaishi, 71(6), 1997, pp. 605-606
Two rosemary cell lines that produce pigments only in the light, and e
ven in the dark, respectively, were screened after repeatedly subcultu
ring pigmented cell aggregates. The main pigment produced in the dark
was identified as shisonin, ((E)-p-coumaryl-beta-glucosyl)-5-O-(beta-g
lucosyl) cyanidin, which is the main anthocyanin in the leaf of shiso
(Perilla ocimoides).
