Abstract
It appears that the phase transformation in case of CdS depends on the star ting material and method of treatment. In phase transformation process, XRD peak heights corresponding to: (111), (200), (220) (belonging to cubic pha se) and (002), (101) and (103) (belonging to hexagonal phase) are changing. Percentage of hexagonal content (H) in CdS go on increasing with an increa se in concentration of CdCl2 or CuCl2 (% by weight of CdS) into CdS and pha se transformation perhaps could be attributed to the incorporation of Cl- i ons in CdS matrix in the process of doping. Lattice constants are observed to be sensitively affected by doping. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All ri ghts reserved.
