Abstract
An erbium-doped fiber laser is demonstrated using an erbium-doped fiber loo p and a fiber grating. The novel cavity configuration enables both a short cavity length and easy tunability to be achieved simultaneously. A maximum output power of > 400 mu W has been achieved, and single longitudinal mode operation is obtained. (C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
