Abstract
The thermal behaviour of a non-mesomorphic 2,4,6-triarylamino-1,3,5-triazin e fitted with three peripheral dodecyloxy chains has been investigated in b inary mixtures with 4-octyloxy-benzoic acid and with nitrofluorenone based electron accepters. Attractive interactions between the complementary compo nents, related to intermolecular hydrogen bonding or charge transfer comple x formation, give rise to inductions of columnar as well as smectic liquid crystalline structures.
