The title compound was synthesized as a liquid crystalline photoconductor.
Its thermal behavior is strongly dependent on the thermal history of the ma
terial. It exhibits polymorphism in the solid state and a columnar hexagona
l disordered mesophase in a wide temperature range from 68 degrees C to 292
degrees C.
