Development of low background CdZnTe detectors is in progress to study neut
rino-less double beta decay. The mu tau product (mobility times lifetime) f
or holes was measured in a set of CdZnTe detectors at various temperatures
between +22 degrees C and -40 degrees C in order to investigate charge coll
ection efficiencies for holes. The sensitivity of CdZnTe detectors to neutr
ino-less beta(+)EC decays of Zn-64 (Zn-64 + EC --> Ni-64 + beta(+)) is esti
