Abstract
In the course of developing a fast readout system of an X-ray CCD camera wi th low noise using HPK-CCD, we have succeeded in making a clock generator t o read data from a CCD with the speed of 2 M pixel/s. This generator is fab ricated from commercially available products in order to simplify the manuf acturing procedure. To determine the noise of the system, we are evaluating the noise from each part which conceivably contributes. It is known that t he readout noise depends on the clock speed. Thus, to begin with, we measur ed the dependency of the system noise from the ADC in the data acquisition system on its clock speed. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserv ed.
