Abstract
We report on a simple, spatially incoherent, wavelength-independent imaging system that, in contrast to the conventional case, exhibits a dispersion-c ompensated point-spread function. Our hybrid (diffractive-refractive) three -lens imaging configuration thus acts as an all-incoherent dispersion-compe nsated optical irradiance correlator. So the optical arrangement is well ad apted to processing color information (both spatially and temporally incohe rent) under natural illumination. (C) 1999 Optical Society of America.
