Abstract
The polymerization of bisphenol-A diphthalic anhydride with 2,3-bis(perfluo roalkyl methyl)butane-1,4 diamine (NFD) led to a new series of fluorinated poly(ether imide)s. In the case of C4F9 perfluoroalkyl chain, polymers and copolymers obtained from a mixture of m-phenylenediamine and NFD were chara cterized by FTIR, NMR, molecular weights, glass transition temperature, the rmal degradation temperature and surface energies; their hydrophobic proper ties and processability may provide an easy preparation of non-porous films .
