Two new species of Eleutherodactylus, E. pechorum and E. olanchano, of the
E. rugulosus group are described from Honduras. The following combination o
f characters will distinguish E. pechorum from the remaining E. rugulosus g
roup members: male vocal slits present; male nuptial thumb pad absent; fing
er II < I; female loreal length/eye length ratio less than or equal to 1.00
; keels present on unwebbed portions of toes; toes with basal webbing; cant
hus rounded; posterior surface of thighs marked with numerous pale spots an
d blotches; anteroventral and posteroventral surfaces of tibial segments ba
rred; ventral surfaces pale yellow; and size moderate. Eleutherodactylus ol
anchano is distinguished from all other E. rugulosus group species by the f
ollowing combination of characters: male vocal slits and nuptial thumb pads
absent; finger II > I or II approximate to I; tympanum length/eye length r
atio greater than or equal to 1.00; and male size very small (females unkno
wn).
