A C-60 - toluene derivative is prepared by reaction of C-60 with toluene in
the presence of a proper catalyst. According to the UV and H-1 NMR spectra
, the structure of the product and the reaction mechanism are discussed. Co
mparison of the PL spectrum of the derivative and C-60; shows that the deri
vative has increased PL phenomena at 460nm at room temperature.
