Abstract
The crystal structure of N, N, N', N'-tetramethylguanidinium tetrachioroant imonate(III), (C5H14N3)[SbCl4], has been determined at 295 and 92 K. Each S b atom is surrounded by six Cl atoms forming an irregular [SbCl6](3-) octah edron. The octahedra are connected with each other in infinite zigzag chain s. There is one crystallographically independent N,N,N',N'-tetramethylguani dinium cation in the crystal structure. It is linked to the [SbCl6](3-) oct ahedra through N-H ... Cl hydrogen bonds. The deformation of the octahedral coordination of the Sb-III atom is related to the presence of N-H ... Cl h ydrogen bonds.
