Abstract
In the structure of the title complex, [Yb-2(C4H5O2)(6)(C12H8N2)(2)], each Yb3+ ion is coordinated by six O atoms from four methacrylate ligands and b y two N atoms of a phenanthroline Ligand, giving a coordination polyhedron which is a distorted square antiprism. Within each centrosymmetric dinuclea r molecule, two Yb3+ ions are bridged by two bidentate bridging methacrylat e ligands.
