Abstract
In the 2:3 adduct of 3,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid and 4,4'-bipyridine, 2C(7)H( 6)O(4). 3C(10)H(8)N(2), the two components are linked by six independent O- H ... N hydrogen bonds [O ... N 2.685 (3)-2.814 (3) Angstrom and O-H ... N 170-178 degrees] into a C-4(4)(32)[R-4(4)(30)] chain of rings. Each chain i s linked to two neighbouring chains by means of aromatic pi...pi stacking i nteractions.
