In this final paper of the series, asymptotic behavior correlations (A
BCs) are presented for thermal properties (ideal-gas enthalpy and free
energy of formation, ideal-gas heat capacity, enthalpy of vaporizatio
n, and liquid heat capacity) and for transport properties (liquid visc
osity, thermal conductivity, and surface tension). The theoretical bas
is for asymptotic behavior of these properties is discussed. The corre
lations were developed using literature data for n-paraffins and n-ole
fins (1-alkenes) and give accurate and consistent predictions. They ar
e preferable to existing correlations in most instances. For specific
heat, viscosity, thermal conductivity, and surface tension, comparison
s are made with high molecular weight, linear polyethylenes and other
long-chain molecules.
