Extragonadal teratoma in child with Schinzel-Giedion's syndrome

Introduction: The association of embryonal tumors with the Schinzel-Giedion 's syndrome and other rare syndromes is reported. Case Report: The case of an Ii-month old child with Schinzel-Giedion's synd rome is presented. This rare syndrome is known to have a high incidence of embryonal tumors. In the reported case the appearance of an inguinal and a sacrococcygeal teratoma underlines the thesis that an increased risk of emb ryonal tumors is a characteristic sign of this syndrome. Conclusion: Different rare syndromes are associated with embryonal tumors. As well as in the case presented, therapeutic measures should only be taken to prevent emergencies or for improvement of life quality.
