Explains how, four years ago, Scania, one of the world's leading manuf acturers of trucks and buses, decided to invest in a more environmenta lly friendly method for painting truck cabs. Describes how the solutio n chosen for a new paint shop at Scania's assembly plant in Oskarshamn , Sweden was powder painting based on robots from BBB Flexible Automat ion. States that paint robots are easy to operate and the quality of t he coating is higher and more uniform than with conventional paint spr aying. In addition, a more agreeable, non-hazardous working environmen t is created for the paintshop personnel.
