H. Storzer et Ph. Hauschild, EUV ENERGY-DISTRIBUTIONS OF ACCRETION DISKS IN ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI, Astronomy and astrophysics, 289(1), 1994, pp. 45-53
We have calculated UV/EUV (300 angstrom less-than-or-equal-to lambda l
ess-than-or-equal-to 1500 angstrom) continuous energy distributions of
accretion disks in the centers of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) for d
isk luminosities in the range 0.1 . L(Edd) less-than-or-equal-to L(acc
) < 1.0.L(Edd) and central masses ranging from 10(8) M. to 10(10) M..
The vertical gas pressure structure of the disk is obtained analytical
ly, the temperature stratification and the resulting continuum radiati
on fields are calculated numerically. We show that weak Lyman edges ar
e an intrinsic feature of such disks. The strength of the H I Lyman ed
ge decreases for increasing accretion rate and fixed mass of the centr
al black hole. It increases for increasing central mass and fixed lumi
nosity in terms of the Eddington luminosity.
