Abstract
In this paper, we present some numerical techniques for the modeling of mul ticomponent gas flow in porous media. We feature the mixed finite element m ethod over quadrilaterals as a solver to the non-Darcy flow equation, and a conservative Godunov-type scheme for the mass balance equations. The Godun ov-type method is a higher-order scheme and requires a linear reconstructio n of the solution profile using appropriately-chosen limiters for the slope . The mixed formulation for the flow system enables an efficient and natural treatment of various well-conditions. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. and IM ACS. All rights reserved.
