A. Cabral-prieto et J. Rubio, Resolution-enhancement of broadened spectra of the UV-light and thermal treated alanine free radicals, APPL RAD IS, 51(6), 1999, pp. 663-673
Two methods for resolution-enhancing broadened spectra were analyzed. One m
ethod was used to treat ESR spectra of the gamma-ray induced alanine free r
adicals and to study the effect when they are subjected to UV-light and hea
t. Spectral differences are obvious between these treatments. From a combin
ed W-light and heat treatment of these free radicals, some ESR lines disapp
ear while five broad lines still remain. These spectral differences may cle
arly suggest the existence of two or more free radical species in gamma-ray
irradiated alanine that can be predicted at room temperature. (C) 1999 Pub
