Abstract
A regioisomeric set of 2-naphthylcarbapenems featuring cationic substituent s was synthesized. Optimal placement of the cationic group was found to mar kedly improve activity against methicillin-resistant staphylococci while ma intaining a good spectrum of gram-negative activity.
