Abstract
The simple 1:2 adduct (NBu4)(2)[{Pt(mu-kappa C-alpha:eta(2)- C=CPh)(4)}(CdC l2)(2)] 2 containing unusual eta(2)-alkyne Cd interactions, as well as the unexpected tetranuclear dimer (NBu4)(2)[{Pt(mu-kappa (CCalpha)-C-alpha-C=CP h)(4)}(2)(CdCl)(2)] 1 stabilised by alkynyl bridging ligands and platinum-c admium bonding interactions, have been characterised by X-ray crystallograp hy and their luminescence properties have been also investigated.
