Ym. Gershenzon et al., Application of a new modification of the radical-freezing-out technique tostudying elementary gas-phase reactions. Reaction HO2+NO=OH+NO2, CHEM PHYS R, 18(1), 1999, pp. 91-101
Freezing-cut of radicals (RFT) with subsequent recording of their spin reso
nance spectrum is applied for the first time to studies of a fast gas-phase
reaction HO2 + NO = OH + NO2. The rate constant determined at T = 295 K eq
uals (7.3 +/- 2) . 10(-12) cm(3)/s and is close to the value recommended in
the literature of (8.6 +/- 1.7) . 10(-12) cm(3)/s. The RFT modification su
ggested previously was employed to study this fast elementary gas-phase rea
ction.
