Abstract
This paper reports on the eruption of comet Hale-Bopp in September 1996. Tw o globular ejecta are observed near the nucleus of the comet on Sept. 10 an d 11, 1996. We measured the projected velocity to be some 100 m/s. Subseque ntly the ejecta evolved into a pair of huge jets.
