Abstract
In this paper we present a rule-based expert system applied to the fault di agnosis in the communication system of a power utility. The expert system i s part of the system devoted to the management of a power utility's communi cation system that we called NOMOS. Actually NOMOS is managing the communic ation systems of Sevillana de Electricidad and Union Electrica Fenosa (two major Spanish power utilities).
