Abstract
Oligomeric complexes of Re(I) have been prepared from fac-Re(chelate)(CO)(3 )OTf and linear diphosphines such as 1.2-bis-diphenylphosphinoethylene by c areful control of stoichiometry, solvent and temperature (e.g., chelate is 2,2'-bpy). One complex, (CO)(3)(bpy)Re(mu(2)-t-dppene)Re(bpy)(CO)(2)(mu(2)- t-dppene)Rs(bpy)(CO)(3)[OTf](3), is found to exhibit "parallel" energy tran sfer between an exterior tricarbonyl and the interior dicarbonyl unit at ro om temperature in CH2Cl2: solution.
