Dm. Tucker et al., THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CLIENT SATISFACTION AND REHABILITATION SUCCESS MEASURES OF VR COUNSELOR PERFORMANCE, The Journal of rehabilitation, 63(2), 1997, pp. 49-53
This study investigated the relationship between vocational rehabilita
tion (VR) counselor success and VR client satisfaction ratings. Two hu
ndred and fifty three clients rated their satisfaction with the VR ser
vices they received and with the 24 counselors who provided these serv
ices. Multiple regression analyses applied to examine client satisfact
ion ratings as predictors of counselor rehabilitation rates and number
s of rehabilitated clients resulted in nonsignificant regression model
s. A multiple analysis of variance revealed no significant differences
in clients' satisfaction ratings due to client demographic variables
(race, gender, age, and education level). The present results suggest
that client satisfaction ratings may tap a different domain of VR coun
selor competence that may be used to supplement traditional measures o
f their performance. Additionally, VR counselors in this study did not
appear to discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age or education
level in their provision of VR services to clients.
