Abstract
The non-linear optical technique of visible-infrared sum (SFG) and differen ce (DFG) frequency generation is becoming an efficient tool for probing in situ the vibrational properties of the very first adsorbed layer, between c entrosymmetric media. We give here a summary of three applications of SFG a nd DFG in the investigation of liquid \ solid interfaces. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
