Abstract
Juvenile hormone III and juvenile hormone analogs (methoprene, farnesyl met hyl ether) cause a short-term depression of spike activity in last instar l arvae of the cockroach Periplaneta americana, specifically in the prothorac ic gland nerves, both in vivo and in vitro. The decreased nervous activity in the prothoracic gland nerves leads to decreased ecdysteroid secretion by the prothoracic gland. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
