We present a study of phase separation from supersaturated He-3-He-4 liquid
mixtures at low temperatures addressing both the degree of critical supers
aturation Delta x(cr) and the thermal-to-quantum crossover temperature T* f
or the nucleation process. Two different nucleation seeds are investigated,
namely He-3 droplets and He-4 vortex lines with cores filled with He-3. We
have found that the experimental T* is reproduced when we consider that nu
cleation proceeds front (SHe)-S-3 droplets, whereas Delta x(cr) is reproduc
ed when we consider He-4 vortex lines filled with He-3. However, neither nu
cleation configuration is able to simultaneously reproduce the current expe
rimental information on Delta x(cr) and T*.
