Mh. Prasad et al., Metavolcanic and metasedimentary inclusions in the Bundelkhand Granitic Complex in Tikamgarh district, Madhya Pradesh, J GEOL S IN, 54(4), 1999, pp. 359-368
The Bundelkhand Granitic Complex of central India contains inclusions of Ar
chaean volcanic and sedimentary rocks and orthogneisses, some of which are
15 km by 6 km in size. Earlier workers considered that these inclusions bel
ong to two distinct lithostratigraphic formations separated in time by a mi
gmatization event. Our new data suggest that the migmatization event post-d
ated all of the volcanic and sedimentary rocks and hence the two- fold stra
tigraphic subdivision is not viable. Further, intrusion of orthogneisses re
sulted in an increase in grade of metamorphism in some volcanic and sedimen
tary rocks specifically near the contact.
