Abstract
The Tb3+-doped zinc salicylate, Zn(HOC6H4CO2)(2):Tb, and the zinc monosalic ylate, alpha- and beta-Zn(OC6H4CO2): Tb, are synthesized by rheological pha se reaction and thermal decomposition. alpha-Zn(OC6H4CO2): Tb has very stro ng green emission of Tb3+ under excitation with UV light. The excitation an d emission spectra are investigated. The relationship between the luminesce nce properties and crystal structures, and the energy transfer mechanism ar e discussed.
