Central charges and cohomological properties in phase space

We consider the algebra associated to a group of time-dependent coordinate transformations which are symmetries of a regular mechanical system (i.e. s ystem free of constraints). We derive expressions for the central extension of the algebra that may appear at the classical level. We analyze the vari ation of the phase space Lagrangian under finite transformations extending thus the usual configuration space cochain concepts to phase space.
