Abstract
On the basis of a broaden version of the phenomenological Landau - de Genne s model of smectic A mesophase it is predicted the possibility of induction and suppression of reentrant phase transitions under the action of an exte rnal field. Topological classification of phase diagrams with reentrant sta tes in "field-temperatre" coordinates is performed.
