Abstract
Different types of alignment (planar, homeotropic and tilted) were observed in LC cell doped with aerosil. Alignment direction was controlled by means of magnetic and electric field. Stability of LC alignment after removing t he field is explained as LC stabilization by oriented structure of aerosil.
