Abstract
Metalation of the tertiary phosphine MeP(C6H4-2-CH2NMe2)(2) with t-BuLi pro ceeds exclusively to give the novel dimeric benzyllithium complex [MeP(C6H4 -2-CH2NMe2){C6H4-2-CH(Li)NMe2}](2); variable-temperature NMR studies show t hat this complex: undergoes a novel dynamic process in solution.
