Abstract
Bone allografts are being used in increasing numbers by orthopedic surgeons , yet many surgeons are unfamiliar with their preparation and processing, a s well as their use as safe and effective transplants. This article reviews current sources of bone allografts, new methods of processing to achieve o ptimal results, the biology of incorporation of allografts, and new bone su bstitutes.
