Abstract
Pentavalent antimonial drugs used for the treatment of leishmaniasis have b een associated with sudden deaths, probably due to the development of ventr icular tachyarrhythmias. Prolongation of the QT interval and ventricular ta chyarrhymias have been described in patients on amiodarone therapy. We repo rt a case of recurrent torsades de pointes following treatment with pentava lent antimonial drugs and amiodarone. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd . All rights reserved.
