Abstract
Norrish (type II) photochemical fragmentation of 25,26,27-trinor-17,14-frid o-9 beta-lanostane 23-ketone was performed to give the 17 alpha-vinyl deriv ative, a promising intermediate for the synthesis of 4,4-dimethyl-9 beta-st eroid derivatives.
