Four solid cryptates of a cage-type N2O6-heteroatom hexabenzo cryptand (L)
with M(III) nitrates (M = Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy) have been synthesized and charact
erized by IR, fluorescence spectra, TG-DTA and molar conductances. The comp
osition of these cryptates was determined as M-2(NO3)(6)L . H2O, and the st
ructure [M(L)(NO3)][M(NO3)(5)(H2O)] has been suggested. Some abnormalities
in the fluorescence emission intensity were found for the Tb(III) and Dy(II
I) cryptates.
