Abstract
A versatile chiral synthesis of the bone collagen cross-link, (+)-deoxypyri dinoline (Dpd, 1) was described starting from a 3-hydroxypyridine derivativ e (2) via sequential introduction of three amino acid chains followed by hy drolysis.
