Abstract
This article is an overview of the general concepts about stress fract ures, including history, epidemiology, and cause. The proper diagnosis , confirmation studies, and treatment regimens are presented. Finally, the timing of the athlete's return to sports, with stress fracture pr evention measures are reviewed.
