Abstract
A series of phenylenevinylene dimers with different electron-releasing subs tituents were synthesized by Wittig reaction. Their electronic structures w ere characterized with cyclic-voltammetry and UV-Vis spectra, their energy levels were calculated with a quantum chemical calculation approach (AM1), the relationship between the photoluminescent property and the electronic s tructure was systematically discussed.
