V. Holba, Solubility and thermodynamic functions of transfer for [Cr(en)(2)Cl-2]center dot[Cr(C6H5NH2)(2)(NCS)(4)] from water to water-organic mixed solvents, CHEM PAP-CH, 53(4), 1999, pp. 227-232
The solubilities of cis- and trans-dichlorobis (ethylenediamine) chromium(I
II) salt of dianilinetetraisothiocyanatochromate(III) in water as well as i
n aqueous methanol, ethanol, propan-2-ol, 2-methylpropan-2-ol, acetonitrile
, and ethylene carbonate were measured as a function of temperature and sol
vent composition. The Gibbs energies, enthalpies, and entropies of transfer
of the saturating salts from water to the mixed solvents have been evaluat
ed from solubility data. The contributions of cis- and trans-[Cr(en)(2)Cl-2
](+) ions to the Gibbs energies of transfer of the investigated salts have
been calculated using the tetraphenylarsonium tetraphenylborate reference e
lectrolyte assumption.
