Crystallization of distilled water is accompanied by continuous and pulsed
emission of electromagnetic waves. The correlation between the emission spe
ctra in the frequency range from 20- to 10(4)-Hz and the kinetics of the ev
olution of the needlelike ice polycrystals has been established for the fir
st time. It is shown that electric pulses are generated due to growth of gr
ains and their collisions in the course of crystallization, whereas the amp
litude distribution of the pulses reflects the distribution of grain sizes.
