The influence of spare harmonic field waves of the rotor on the torque-speed-characteristic of cage induction motors

The paper presents an algorithm to precalculate the torque-speed-characteri stic of cage induction motors. Especially the reaction of the stator windin g on space harmonics, which are generated by the rotor currents, is taken i nto account. The influence depends on the connection of the stator winding into parallel paths and their distribution around the circumference. The pa per shows simple formulas, which allow the integration of the algorithm int o existing design software. The result of the calculation has been verified with a 6-pole motor. The test results are in good accordance with the calc ulated torques.
