An interfacial study of Tl2Ba2Ca2Cu3O10 thin films on silver foil has
been carried out. There is a guest phase, composed of a 2.4-nm-thick u
nit cell up to 10 nm thick in total, formed between the interface of t
he 2223 phase and the substrate. It is fitted, with our proposed model
, to Tl2CaCu2O6. This kind of guest phase in the TBCCO and silver syst
em is found for the first time. This non-superconducting Tl2CaCu2O6 ph
ase did not affect the superconducting property, and T(c)=102 K was fo
und for this sample.
