Electrical conductivity of twelve CoCl2-KCl molten mixtures has been determ
ined as a function of temperature in the range of composition from 20 to 10
0 mol% CoCl2. Results are well-fitted in the form of an Arrhenius-type equa
tion in the range from the liquidus temperature to about 200 K above. Condu
ctivity isotherms as well as activation energy for conduction are interpret
ed in terms of complex formation in the molten cobalt dichloride-potassium
chloride system.
