This paper reveals that the dynamics of a converter loaded with other conve
rters downstream are markedly different from those of a standalone converte
r and conventional design techniques developed for converters with a resist
ive load could destabilize the control loop of converters combined with oth
er converters, Eased on comprehensive small-signal analyses, this paper pre
sents the proper way of designing the control loop of converters driving ot
her converters downstream, The analysis and design results are verified by
both time- and frequency-domain simulations.
